{"id":198772,"date":"2025-06-20T03:03:29","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T03:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/198772\/"},"modified":"2025-06-20T03:03:29","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T03:03:29","slug":"russia-says-ukraine-must-accept-new-realities-as-moscow-awaits-3rd-round-of-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/198772\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia says Ukraine must accept \u2018new realities\u2019 as Moscow awaits 3rd round of talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISTANBUL<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Ukraine &#8220;will have to understand and accept&#8221; the emerging post-war realities, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday, expressing optimism about progress toward a third round of talks with Kyiv.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ukraine will certainly have to understand that the situation has changed compared to what it was three years ago,&#8221; Peskov told RBC, a Russian business news broadcaster, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApparently, not to the end (they don\u2019t understand), but at least they probably carefully read the text of the memorandum that we handed over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the document, submitted by Moscow, outlines the \u201cnew realities\u201d that Ukraine must recognize.<\/p>\n<p>Peskov added that humanitarian agreements reached so far have created the basis for more substantial progress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that many wounded young people were given the opportunity to return home is a very important result,\u201d he said, referring to a key achievement in the ongoing talks.<\/p>\n<p>On the potential for a landmark summit, Peskov said a trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy \u201cshould be the result of long-term work and already prepared points.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said Israel had provided assurances regarding the safety of Russian specialists working at Iran\u2019s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant amid escalating regional tensions.<\/p>\n<p>The Kremlin has repeatedly urged Kyiv to resume negotiations, citing the Istanbul talks as a foundation.
