{"id":198835,"date":"2025-06-20T03:33:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T03:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/198835\/"},"modified":"2025-06-20T03:33:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T03:33:13","slug":"seven-f1-champions-confirmed-for-2025-goodwood-festival-of-speed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/198835\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven F1 champions confirmed for 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A host of Formula 1 champions have been confirmed for special appearances during next month\u2019s Goodwood Festival of Speed.<\/p>\n<p>The Festival, taking place from 10\u201313 July, will mark a series of major motor sport anniversaries with daily tributes at Goodwood House, including rare appearances by some of the sport\u2019s most iconic figures alongside the cars that defined their careers.<\/p>\n<p>Among the headline attractions will be Saturday\u2019s unprecedented assembly of seven F1 world champions, who will take to the balcony following a commemorative run up the Hill in machinery synonymous with their title-winning campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>The confirmed line-up includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alain Prost \u2013 McLaren MP4\/2B<\/li>\n<li>Emerson Fittipaldi \u2013 McLaren M23<\/li>\n<li>Jackie Stewart \u2013 Tyrrell 003 and 006<\/li>\n<li>Mario Andretti \u2013 Lotus 79<\/li>\n<li>Nigel Mansell \u2013 Williams FW14B<\/li>\n<li>Mika H\u00e4kkinen \u2013 McLaren MP4\/13<\/li>\n<li>Jacques Villeneuve \u2013 car TBC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each driver will be reunited with their championship-winning machines in what is expected to be one of the most spectacular displays of Formula 1 history ever staged at Goodwood. The Saturday celebration will be hosted by Sky Sports F1 pundit Karun Chandhok.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"450\" width=\"800\" alt=\"Nigel Mansell at the 2022 Festival of Speed\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Nigel-Mansell-at-the-2022-Festival-of-Speed.-Ph.-by-Martin-Hoare-800x450.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-image-text\">Mansell will be driving his championship-winning Williams<\/p>\n<p>The Festival\u2019s opening day will honour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportmagazine.com\/database\/drivers\/derek-bell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Derek Bell<\/a> with a special appearance marking the 50th anniversary of his first Le Mans victory in 1975. Bell will drive the Mirage-Ford GR8 he shared with Jacky Ickx at La Sarthe.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, motorcycle legend Carl Fogarty will take centre stage to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his 1995 World Superbike title. The four-time world champion will ride his iconic Ducati 916, before being honoured in front of Goodwood House.<\/p>\n<p>The final day of the Festival, Sunday, will feature a tribute to Alain Prost, commemorating the 40th anniversary of his first F1 title in 1985.
