Liverpool are exploring the idea of bringing Marc Guehi in on a free transfer during next summer\u2019s transfer window, Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds are currently working on a deal which will see Jarell Quansah move to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving them in need of a new option at centre-back.<\/p>\n

Guehi<\/a> has been put forward as a potential replacement in some quarters, with the Crystal Palace captain entering the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.<\/p>\n

However, RTK understands Liverpool<\/a>\u2018s interest in Guehi currently centres around a potential arrival in the summer of 2026.<\/p>\n

For his part, the 24-year-old is understood to be reluctant to arrive at Anfield<\/a> as a third choice option as things stand.<\/p>\n

While Liverpool\u2019s interest is concrete, sources have indicated that the Reds are exploring other options should Quansah leave as expected.<\/p>\n

Although Quansah\u2019s Liverpool exit moved forward on Thursday<\/a>, RTK understands the Reds are still yet to reach an agreement on his sale.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old is expected to join Leverkusen, but the transfer is understood to be not as advanced as has been reported elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Quansah is still likely to leave Liverpool after failing to break into Arne Slot\u2019s regular starting XI.<\/p>\n

Slot is understood to have been happy to keep the Liverpool academy<\/a> graduate, with Quansah\u2019s desire for more first team football the driving force behind his move.<\/p>\n

While Guehi is clearly on Liverpool\u2019s radar as a long-term option, RTK have been told that Liverpool are assessing other options as more direct replacements for Quansah.<\/p>\n

Valencia\u2019s Cristhian Mosquera and Nathan Zeze of Nantes are both being watched, while the Reds are also long-term admirers of Sporting\u2019s Ousmane Diomande.<\/p>\n

How much would Marc Guehi cost?<\/p>\n

Although Guehi is being primarily viewed as signing for 2026 at Liverpool, a move during this summer\u2019s window has not been totally ruled out.<\/p>\n

Palace are understood to be looking for around \u00a345m to sell their captain as he enters the final year of his agreement.<\/p>\n

Guehi was \u2018exceptional\u2019 at Euro 2024<\/a> last year and Palace rejected a \u00a370m offer for the centre-back as recently as February. As a result, Liverpool may yet see his cut-price addition as good value.<\/p>\n
