The Upside Down House at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-one\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool ONE<\/a> was having \u201cessential works\u201d carried out for a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At the start of this month, the house\u2019s red exterior had been removed, and parts of the white slated roof were also missing. The unique attraction has been a firm fixture at the retail and leisure complex for more than a year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Located just a short distance from <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/huge-surging-gangs-liverpool-one-31644966\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Chavasse Park<\/a>, the interactive photo experience is aimed at families, friends and small groups. The two-storey attraction is designed to appear upside down on its roof at a slight angle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">There are 11 Upside Down Houses across England, but this is the only one in the North West. The team behind the company have now confirmed it is moving location. The company launched in November 2018. Since the success of the first house in Bournemouth, the business expanded to multiple locations nationwide, and in other parts of the world, including France, Germany and Australia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The company launched in November 2018. The site, subject to<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-council\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Liverpool Council<\/a> approval, would operate from 10am to 9pm on Mondays to Saturdays. Sundays and Bank Holidays would open an hour later at 10am.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1_LEC_EKIR_010524_UPSTIDEDOWNHOUSE-1.jpg\" alt=\"Upside Down House is heading to Liverpool ONE in May\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Upside Down House is returning to Liverpool(Image: Upside Down House)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">When it opened last year the interior was designed with an open plan layout, to allow customers to move around the illusion experience and find multiple photo opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The city&#8217;s attraction featured new areas that had never been seen before in other Upside Down Houses across the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A design and access statement submitted to a previous application in 2024 said: \u201cThe Upside Down Houses strongly support the local economy and significantly boost tourist attractions for the cities and towns they are in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe cultural attraction would, in that sense, complement Liverpool\u2019s city and cultural centre. There are clear public benefits from the siting of the Upside Down House and Spinning House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cIt is a significant tourist attraction in its own right.
