{"id":200035,"date":"2025-06-20T14:06:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T14:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/200035\/"},"modified":"2025-06-20T14:06:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T14:06:17","slug":"carlos-sainz-team-receive-payment-over-brad-pitt-f1-movie-with-fia-on-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/200035\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Sainz team receive &#8216;payment&#8217; over Brad Pitt F1 movie with FIA on alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>James Vowles has revealed that Williams received \u201ca payment\u201d for allowing the team\u2019s wind tunnel to be used in the upcoming Brad Pitt F1 movie.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And it has emerged that the team had to demonstrate to the FIA that they were not gaining a competitive advantage by allowing access to the production team.<\/p>\n<p>Williams receive \u2018payment\u2019 for use of wind tunnel in Brad Pitt F1 movie<\/p>\n<p>The highly anticipated F1 film will be released next week with Pitt starring as main protagonist Sonny Hayes, a veteran racing driver who stages a stunning comeback.<\/p>\n<p>It is hoped that the movie will capitalise on the success of Drive to Survive, the hit Netflix docuseries, by introducing Formula 1 to millions of new fans.<\/p>\n<p>The production team have been a regular presence at F1 events over recent years, with filming taking place on real-life race weekends at such circuits as Silverstone, Las Vegas and the Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Sainz vs Alex Albon: Williams head-to-head scores for F1 2025<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/f1-2025-qualifying-head-to-head-team-mates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1 2025: Head-to-head qualifying statistics between team-mates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/f1-2025-race-head-to-head-team-mates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1 2025: Head-to-head race statistics between team-mates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Williams wind tunnel is seen in the blockbuster with Vowles, who has emerged as a fan favourite since joining the Grove-based outfit from Mercedes in 2023, also making a cameo appearance.<\/p>\n<p>And the Williams boss has revealed that the team received \u201ca payment\u201d for allowing the wind tunnel to be used in the film, admitting it proved slightly \u201cdisruptive\u201d for the team.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/sport\/formula-one\/article\/f1-the-movie-is-just-another-vehicle-to-help-the-sport-crack-america-73j8h6rxj\" target=\"_blank\">Times<\/a>, he said: \u201cThey approached us, because they could have done a [film] set from what I understood, but actually wanted to replicate or be in exactly the environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s quite difficult for us nowadays to effectively extract everything that we need to [for Williams\u2019 work in the wind tunnel], stop our programs and bring them in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a limited number of [wind tunnel] \u2018fan on\u2019 time, so you can work around that.
