Nottinghamshire have signed India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan on a short-term County Championship deal.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 26-year-old, who has featured in two Tests for India as well as a combined 59 One-Day and T20 international appearances, will be available for Notts’ red-ball fixtures against Yorkshire and Somerset this month.<\/p>\n

Kishan will fill in for Kyle Verreynne, who will be away with World Test Championship-winning South Africa for their two-match series in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

He has most recently played in the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

Having spent his entire first-class career at home with Jharkand in the Ranji Trophy, where he has amassed almost 3,450 runs with a career-best knock of 273, Kishan is eager to make a mark on the English game.<\/p>\n

“I’m feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills,” he told the club website., external<\/a><\/p>\n

“I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills.<\/p>\n

Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores says the Kishan “brings proven quality” to the County Championship Division One leaders.<\/p>\n
