So far, it\u2019s on par with what you expect to find at The National Gallery. However, the cacti and stepped pyramids tell you this isn\u2019t the Western European landscape you usually see here. It\u2019s the work of Mexican painter Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Velasco, the first ever exhibition here dedicated to a Latin American artist, filled with spectacular landscape paintings. <strong>Until 17th August, free.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Claudio-Parmiggiani-at-Estorick-Collection-of-Modern-Italian-Art-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-324939\"  data-\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.estorickcollection.com\/exhibitions\/claudio-parmiggiani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Claudio Parmiggiani at Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a massive fan of his bookshelves, which show the outlines of books made from ash. They are compelling and stress the importance of knowledge and education, and the impacts of their absence are even more relevant today. You\u2019ve probably heard of <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/victor-hugo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victor Hugo<\/a> as a novelist, but did you know he was also an impressive draughtsman? From gothic castles to an animated octopus, here\u2019s a chance to disappear into the fantastical worlds he created on paper, and it\u2019s a show that\u2019s well-suited to the RA\u2019s smaller exhibition space. <strong>Until 29th June, ticketed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Jonathan-Baldock-0.1-at-The-London-Mithraeum-1200x899.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-324941\"  data-\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.londonmithraeum.com\/bloomberg-space\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Baldock: 0.1% at The London Mithraeum<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This maximalist installation by <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/jonathan-baldock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Baldock<\/a> includes a winged being, a giant mother goddess, tapestries, and ceramics. Inspired by folklore and paganism, he uses natural materials like hessian wool, clay, wood, and metal to make his works. I love how they always have a spiritual installation that ties into the ancient temple underground. <strong>Until 5th July, free.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/The-Power-and-The-Glory-at-Newport-Street-Gallery-1200x900.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-324942\"  data-\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newportstreetgallery.com\/exhibition\/the-power-and-the-glory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Power and The Glory at Newport Street Gallery<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What do you pair with a selection of photographs of nuclear testing? In the case of Newport Street Gallery, it\u2019s their collection of scholar\u2019s rocks \u2013 rocks that have been naturally formed but look like they\u2019ve been sculpted by hand.
