CANNES \u2014 Amanda Batula bravely opened up about her depression battle on \u201cSummer House,\u201d and Page Six has exclusively learned how her husband, Kyle Cooke, was there for her during that time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think sometimes people not only need support but they almost need a push in a certain direction,\u201d the Loverboy founder told us exclusively from Stagwell\u2019s Sport Beach studios at Cannes Lions 2025 Monday.<\/p>\n
Cooke, 42, shared that he stepped up to help Batula, 33, get the proper treatment she needed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen she kind of opened up and then told me she had been trying to go on an app and do it in a way in which there\u2019s little friction, we weren\u2019t positive she was on the right medication,\u201d he explained, \u201cso I helped find another doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooke told Page Six from Stagwell\u2019s Sport Beach studios at Cannes Lions 2025 that he helped Batula find a good doctor and get on the right meds. Ella Pellegrini<\/p>\n
The Amanda Batula Swim designer recognized in the interview, \u201cHe\u2019s been super helpful\u201d before cheekily joking, \u201cfor the most part.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cooke further shared that part of the reason he had such insight as to what may be helpful for Batula was because he had been in a similar position to her growing up and went on anti-depressants in his youth.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember it like yesterday,\u201d the Bravo star recalled. \u201cIt was ninth grade and there was a period of time where I felt very lost, very depressed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cooke did not divulge what exactly transpired that got him to a low point in his mental health, but said he learned at the time how medication \u201ccan really help reset and again remove that stigma.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a kid, I would never talk about this. It was something that I was embarrassed about,\u201d the DJ admitted.<\/p>\n
Cooke also admitted to Page Six that he once struggled with depression himself growing up. Ella Pellegrini<\/p>\n
Despite being in a much better place mentally than when she first shared her struggles on her show, Batula confessed Monday that she still has \u201cgood weeks\u201d and \u201cbad weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that\u2019s just what it will be forever, but I\u2019m here, so that\u2019s good,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n
The reality star concluded that despite her journey being a lifelong one, she has found that telling her story to the public has been \u201csuper rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI never thought twice about talking about my depression. I don\u2019t know if I realized there was such a negative stigma about it,\u201d Batula told us.<\/p>\n
