Prince William<\/a> once revealed an “awful” gift that he had previously given to his wife in the early days of their relationship<\/a> – one which left her stumped. There’s no doubt that William gifted Princess Kate some amazing gifts in their 14 years of marriage<\/a>, but the royal hasn’t always found gift-giving an easy task.<\/p>\n

William once revealed that he previously gifted Kate a present that she has “never let him forget” as it left her baffled. Whilst making an appearance on former England striker Peter Crouch’s podcast on BBC<\/a> Radio Five Live, William admitted that he previously gave Kate “a pair of binoculars”.<\/p>\n

After Peter confessed to giving his own wife Abbey Clancy a raincoat for her birthday three years in a row, William said: “I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once – she’s never let me forget that.”<\/p>\n

He added: “That was early on in the courtship that was – I think that sealed the deal.<\/p>\n

“It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time.”<\/p>\n

It is well-known that the royals typically opt to gift one another light-hearted presents – rather than expensive ones – and due to German tradition, the family open their presents on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

Some of the royals’ funny gifts included a bath hat that read, ‘Ain’t life a b*tch’ on it from Prince Harry<\/a> to the late Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Princess Kate once gifted Harry a ‘grow-your-own-girlfriend-kit’ one year.<\/p>\n
