{"id":201451,"date":"2025-06-21T02:48:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T02:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/201451\/"},"modified":"2025-06-21T02:48:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T02:48:31","slug":"sean-and-mike-to-run-from-bristol-to-london-for-mental-health-charities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/201451\/","title":{"rendered":"Sean and Mike to run from Bristol to London for mental health charities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two friends have one mission \u2013 to take on an extreme challenge and change lives in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Setting off on Friday, June 20, ultrarunners Sean Axe and Mike Edmondstone will run 250km from Clifton Suspension Bridge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inyourarea.co.uk\/areas-we-cover\/England\/Bristol\/Bristol\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bristol<\/a> to Tower Bridge in London to raise funds for the charities Mind and Samaritans.<\/p>\n<p>Sean and Mike have given themselves just 50 hours to complete what will be a gruelling challenge, aiming to reach Tower Bridge before the sun sets on the summer solstice weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The charities hold deep personal significance for the men, who have faced their own mental health challenges and experienced the loss of loved ones to suicide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 250km is a test of endurance and a statement of solidarity for those struggling with their mental health.<\/p>\n<p>While their initial goal of \u00a35,000 has already been reached, the runners will continue with their fundraiser to raise as much as they can.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have personally struggled with mental health and anxiety in the past,&#8221; said Sean.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I started my journey of coping with it when my best friend suddenly passed away five years ago. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want people to know they\u2019re not alone and that others understand what they\u2019re going through. There is always someone to reach out to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.trustpilot.com\/review\/www.inyourarea.co.uk?sort=recency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Trust_Pilot_-_Web1.png\" alt=\"TRUSTPILOT WEB1\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mike said: &#8220;Like many, I\u2019ve lost friends and relatives to mental health struggles \u2013 people who were taken from us far too soon. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mind and Samaritans do incredible and invaluable work in raising awareness and providing support to those struggling with their mental health. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nobody should go through depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts alone.
