NFL Legend Troy Aikman conceded that he hasn\u2019t developed a friendship with Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> despite living a hop and a skip away from the royal couple.<\/p>\n Since hanging up the cleats back in 2001, Aikman<\/a> has dived headfirst into a successful broadcasting career<\/a>.<\/p>\n The former Dallas Cowboys<\/a> quarterback, who recently celebrated a major family milestone<\/a> and welcomed a new director<\/a> to the ESPN<\/a> booth, spends most of the NFL<\/a> offseason at his residence in Montecito, California \u2014 the same neighborhood that Harry and Meghan call home.<\/p>\n Yet it appears that Aikman has no interest in hanging out with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex anytime in the near future. \u201cI haven\u2019t run into them,\u201d he told Us Weekly\u2019s Daniel Trainor<\/a>.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Charlie Woods wins huge qualifier after gesture as Tiger sees clutch moment<\/a>READ MORE: Rays pitcher hit in face by 105mph foul ball in dugout as players left distressed<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBut they are there from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they\u2019re out there. But I\u2019m not hanging with them, that\u2019s for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in 2020, Harry and Meghan packed up their bags and moved to a $14 million mansion in Montecito after departing their senior roles with the royal family. According to actress and local resident Sharon Stone, the pair has seamlessly fit into the A-list community.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, the thing about them that is so great is they didn\u2019t come here to live off of our community,\u201d Stone told Access Hollywood in 2020. \u201cThey came here to be a part of our community.<\/p>\n \u201cMy friend said she was sitting in her car, and they bicycled across the street and waved at her while she was sitting at the red light. They\u2019re a part of our community.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve become a giving, caring, participating part of our community. They\u2019re not here to be like, \u2018Would you like to kiss my butt?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Not everyone has received a warm introduction from Harry and Meghan, however. Another Montecito resident, Richard Mineards, claimed the former actress never tried to \u201cfit in\u201d with her affluent neighbors.<\/p>\n \u201cShe pays attention to every appearance, every word, every gesture,\u201d Mineards told the Daily Mail in May. \u201cAnd here in Montecito, we appreciate simple people, even famous ones. Meghan doesn\u2019t play the community game.\u201d<\/p>\n In contrast, Mineards argued that Harry is far more \u201capproachable\u201d compared to his wife. \u201cHe is always charming, approachable, with that very recognizable Windsor accent. He smiles, shakes hands, willingly exchanges a few words,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve seen him at the beach, in an organic coffee shop, or cycling in the hills.\u201d<\/p>\n As for Aikman, he\u2019s lived in Montecito for nearly three decades \u2014 but conceded that there\u2019s one aspect of the neighborhood that he despises.<\/p>\n “I\u2019ve had a love affair with Montecito since I first laid eyes on it in 1996,\u201d he wrote on X back in 2022. “There\u2019s so much to love about this laid-back coastal community, but the medians along Coast Village Road aren\u2019t one of them.<\/p>\n “I understand\/appreciate h2o conservation but dirt? Seriously?
