Springboks lock RG Snyman has no plans to return to South Africa and rejoin the Bulls anytime soon.<\/b><\/p>\n
The powerhouse second-rower left Loftus in 2019, joining Japanese club Honda Heat before making the switch to Ireland, signing for Munster.<\/p>\n
While he had a troublesome start to life in Ireland, he would win the United Rugby Championship with the Irish Province before joining their rivals Leinster<\/a> ahead of the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n Leinster ended their trophy drought in Snyman\u2019s first campaign with the club as he became the first player to win the URC twice since the South African teams joined the competition with the Bok lock also extending his stay in Dublin for another season.<\/p>\n He played a crucial role in the Leinster pack this season, featuring over 20 times for the club, and his presence in the opposition pack irked Bulls<\/a> boss Jake White, who has repeatedly pleaded with top Springbok players to return to South Africa.<\/p>\n Jake White\u2019s plea<\/p>\n After the Bulls narrowly defeated the Irish side during the league stages of the URC, White<\/a> was asked how he could change the team\u2019s form at home and the former Boks head coach stated that getting former players back to the franchise would do it, pointing to the impact that Leinster signings Snyman and All Blacks\u2019 star Jordie Barrett made.<\/p>\n \u201cI sign guys like RG Snyman<\/a> to come back here and I do that,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd now you look at me like I\u2019m crazy but look at RG, shouldn\u2019t he be playing for the Bulls?<\/p>\n \u201cThen home form and everything falls into place. We saw that game tonight, the one guy in the forwards that controls everything is RG and the one guy in the backs controlling everything is Jordie Barrett.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bulls would go on to lose the URC Final 32-7 to Leinster, and White echoed his previous comments when he was asked how the rest of the Pretoria-based franchise could close the gap on the Irish powerhouse.<\/p>\n \u201cThe lesson I\u2019ve taken from that is we need more international players to play in our province,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI need what Leinster has. I need to be able to fight fire with fire. Leinster, Toulouse, La Rochelle, what do you need to win those games? Academy players or seasoned internationals?<\/p>\n \u201cI keep banging the same drum. I\u2019ve coached some of the best players in the world, players who have won player of the year twice. If you\u2019re playing against 23 internationals, I think today Leinster were short with only 22, there is a complete difference.\u201d<\/p>\n Jake White officially confirms two more Springboks signings as Bulls look to close the Leinster gap<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n But White\u2019s pleas have not been heard by the double Rugby World Cup-winning lock who is content with living abroad.<\/p>\n He appeared on Jim Hamilton\u2019s podcast, The Big Jim Show where he answered fan-submitted questions, one of them being \u201cWhat will take for you to return to the Bulls?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m enjoying my time overseas at the moment.
