{"id":202477,"date":"2025-06-21T12:06:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T12:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/202477\/"},"modified":"2025-06-21T12:06:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T12:06:17","slug":"its-so-clear-what-fosun-must-do-after-birmingham-city-plot-ambitious-for-quality-wolves-player","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/202477\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s so clear what Fosun must do after Birmingham City plot ambitious for &#8216;quality&#8217; Wolves player"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Wolves have endured a mixed start to the summer transfer window. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/tag\/matheus-cunha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matheus Cunha<\/a> leaving for Manchester United and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/tag\/rayan-ait-nouri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rayan Ait-Nouri<\/a> joining Manchester City means Vitor Pereira has 32 goal involvements to replace in his squad. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/news\/what-domenico-tetis-arrival-at-wolves-actually-means-for-vitor-pereira\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolves hired Domenico Teti as a technical director<\/a> after Matt Hobbs left his role, and the 48-year-old will support Pereira with the club\u2019s business. <\/p>\n<p>With this restructuring at the top \u2013 including the return of super agent Jorge Mendes \u2013 supporters will hope that the tide is turning at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/club\/stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Molineux<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/transfer-news\/wolves-fans-will-love-what-fer-lopez-just-said-after-becoming-vitor-pereiras-first-summer-signing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolves completed the signing of Celta Vigo winger Fer Lopez<\/a> on a five-year contract, and fans were excited about this deal. However, there have now been more rumours of further exits out of the club. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2200187030-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Tommy Doyle playing for Wolves against Liverpool.\" class=\"wp-image-90312\" \/>Photo by Jack Thomas \u2013 WWFC\/Wolves via Getty ImagesBirmingham City are leading the race for Tommy Doyle<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/tag\/tommy-doyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tommy Doyle<\/a> is another player being linked with a move out of Molineux this summer, as his last start for the club was a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in January. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/news\/vitor-pereira-just-admitted-4m-wolves-player-isnt-good-enough-hes-missing-one-thing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pereira has bemoaned Doyle\u2019s lack of physicality<\/a> as his reason for not playing him more often, and that has prompted clubs to show an interest in the 23-year-old. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/transfer-news\/sunderland-and-wrexham-ready-to-try-and-sign-outstanding-wolves-player-vitor-pereira-has-barely-used\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunderland and Wrexham are keen on Doyle<\/a>, who was only signed from Manchester City for just \u00a34.3 million last summer, and they aren\u2019t the only clubs keeping tabs. <\/p>\n<p>According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, via <a href=\"https:\/\/eflanalysis.com\/transfers\/birmingham-city-named-favourites-to-land-unbelievable-premier-league-talent-ahead-of-wrexham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">EFL Analysis<\/a>, Midlands rivals Birmingham City are leading the race for his signature. <\/p>\n<p>Birmingham have a war chest of funds to spend after cantering to the League One title, and they\u2019re looking to make a statement of intent in the Championship by signing Doyle. <\/p>\n<p>Wolves must raise Doyle\u2019s asking price<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolves<\/a> fans were left dumbfounded when it emerged that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/transfer-news\/we-are-a-joke-wolves-fans-dumbfounded-over-whats-now-been-claimed-about-tommy-doyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doyle is available for just \u00a33 million<\/a>, despite showing his capabilities in the Premier League. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/news\/gary-oneil-hails-unbelievable-quality-from-4-3m-wolves-player\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doyle is a \u2018quality\u2019 operator<\/a> in the middle of the park, and letting him go for a measly sum would be a huge mistake. <\/p>\n<p>Interest from rivals Birmingham only highlights why Wolves must raise the Englishman\u2019s asking price, especially knowing the budget available to manager Chris Davies. <\/p>\n<p>Considering he\u2019s still only 23, the midfielder still hasn\u2019t reached his full potential, and his class as a deep-lying playmaker should make him an eight-figure asset in the future. <\/p>\n<p>The best option for Wolves would be to loan the youngster out, as his contract doesn\u2019t expire till 2028, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.molineux.news\/news\/the-clause-manchester-city-inserted-in-tommy-doyles-wolves-contract-now-revealed\/#:~:text=This%20is%20no%20different%20with,sell%20him%20in%20the%20future.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Man City receive 50% of Doyle\u2019s future fee<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>To only land \u00a31.5 million from a player of his quality would be a travesty, and even worse if Birmingham are the club that signs him. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wolves have endured a mixed start to the summer transfer window.
