An Edinburgh bar boss has pleaded with passers-by to stop hurling rubbish over a wall onto the beach next to their business.<\/p>\n
The manager of Old Chain Pier<\/a>, a gastropub on Trinity Crescent looking out over the Forth, took to social media to vent their frustrations after discovering rubbish discarded on the shore next to the Newhaven pub.<\/p>\n Their message read: “Would love it if members of the public would stop throwing things over the wall onto the shoreline.<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/b> Edinburgh residents warn ‘police our area now’ after string of violence in suburb<\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/b> Edinburgh man, 48, arrested after early morning ‘stabbing’ outside homes<\/a><\/p>\n “It really shouldn’t be our staff’s responsibility to go and collect random detritus – it’s incredibly slippy and dangerous.”<\/p>\n A video shows a member of staff negotiating the slippery rocks below the promenade towards what appears to be a discarded beer keg.<\/p>\n The staff member can be seen navigating the seaweed-covered shore to gather other scattered rubbish. She seems to put her arms out to balance herself on the damp, uneven surface.<\/p>\n One follower commented on the pub’s post, sharing: “I honestly don’t know why on earth anyone would do this.
