Singer continues her Radical Optimism tour trend of covering local artists with help from “trailblazer” Jay Kay<\/p>\n
\n\tThroughout Dua Lipa<\/a>\u2019s recent tour of Down Under, the singer covered<\/a> a different Australian artist every show. That tradition continued Friday as her Radical Optimism tour came to London, with Dua Lipa bringing out Jamiroquai<\/a> to perform that band\u2019s 1996 hit \u201cVirtual Insanity.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt feels really, really special to be here tonight,\u201d Lipa told the sold-out Wembley Stadium crowd. \u201cIt is 10 years since our first ever London show to about 350 people, and I just dreamt of a night like this where I get to be in front of 70,000 people.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tLipa then added that for her London gig, she wanted to bring out an artist who \u201cinspired\u201d her and \u201csomeone who has really been a trailblazer for British music and has really paved the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe one of one, the only, give it up as loud as you fucking can, give it up for Jamiroquai,\u201d Lipa said as that group\u2019s singer Jay Kay strolled out onstage, wearing a typically audacious hat. The two singers and her band then launched into \u201cVirtual Insanity.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tDua Lipa\u2019s Australian and New Zealand tour saw the singer cover the likes of AC\/DC<\/a>, Lorde<\/a>, and Kylie Minogue<\/a>, while also bringing out guests like Troye Sivan<\/a>, Tame Impala<\/a>, and Crowded House\u2019s Neil Finn<\/a>. The local covers have continued \u2014 though less frequently \u2014 as the tour headed to Europe, with Lipa covering Enrique Iglesias\u2019 \u201cHero\u201d in Madrid<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tThe singer will also perform Saturday night at Wembley Stadium, so expect another cover or guest to shake up the set list.
