David Bowie\u2019<\/a>s daughter has your attention; now she wants you to listen. <\/p>\n Lexi Jones<\/a>, the daughter of one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century and his wife Iman<\/a>, released her debut album, Xandri this week along with a heartfelt message with her 220,000 followers on Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n Expressing the emotional struggle with being compared to her father<\/a> and his legacy the singer-songwriter, 24, put pen to paper and admitted: \u2018I\u2019m the daughter of a legend, but I\u2019m more than just his name.\u2019 <\/p>\n She continued to say some people \u2018laugh at how I move\u2019 and yet, at the same time, \u2018want me to carry on a legacy\u2019.<\/p>\n Going more in-depth about the complicated emotions, Lexi expressed that the pressures on her and her father, being who he was, can leave her feeling \u2018confused\u2019 and doubtful. <\/p>\n \u2018Never thought I was good at much, never thought it was worth it to pursue.\u2019 <\/p>\n \t\t \t\t In the page-long poem, Lexi also shared that she isn\u2019t trying to be her dad but rather pave her own way as a musician. <\/p>\n \u2018They see the blood, they hear the sound, yet fail to see me, don\u2019t feel the same,\u2019 she wrote. \u2018They compare me to his heights, like I\u2019m supposed to reach his light. But I\u2019m not here to chase what\u2019s already been done. By loving what I do, I feel I\u2019ve already won.\u2019 <\/p>\n Signing off her poem by telling fans she is \u2018not a copy\u2019 and definitely \u2018not a shadow\u2019, Lexi declared: \u2018I\u2019m not trying to fill his shoes. May they always guide you.\u2019<\/p>\n But it wasn\u2019t just fans who Lexi moved, hidden in the comments were a few from children of famous musicians also trying to pave their own path. <\/p>\n Violet Grohl<\/a>, 18, the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl<\/a>, also shared her support for the musician, commenting: \u2018Beautiful.\u2019 <\/p>\n While Lucas Jagger<\/a>, 25, the son of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger<\/a> and Brazilian lingerie model\u00a0Luciana Gimenez Morad<\/a>, commented: \u2018Amazing.\u2019<\/p>\n Rising star Toni Cornell<\/a>, 20, daughter of philanthropist Vicky Cornell and the late Chris Cornell<\/a>, who was the lead vocalist for Soundgarden and Audioslave, also commented, sharing a simple red love heart emoji. <\/p>\n Lexi\u2019s debut album, Xandri, is a 12-track record that has since hit streaming platforms and features songs such as Cracks of Me, Along the Road, and Let Me Go. <\/p>\n \t\t \t\t While the musician wants to forge her own path, she has previously spoken about her father and the impact his death had on her as she grew up. <\/p>\n She was just 15 when her dad died in January 2016 at age 69 after privately battling pancreatic and liver cancer<\/a>. <\/p>\n In an online blog published last year, she said: \u2018I confused living life with surviving life\u2019s days by filling my body\u2019s bottomless void, drowning myself in toxins and poison,\u2019 she recalls.<\/p>\n \u2018I involved myself in things I never expected to be part of.
