Amad has hinted at making a significant switch this summer that could depend on Marcus Rashford<\/a> leaving Manchester United<\/a> permanently.<\/p>\n

The expectation is that Rashford will leave Old Trafford<\/a> during this summer transfer window<\/a> despite Aston Villa<\/a> deciding not to exercise their \u00a340million purchase option at the end of last season. Barcelona<\/a> are reportedly interested but are currently focusing on Nico Williams.<\/p>\n

The Catalan club being able to afford both, however, could be a stretch considering their well-documented financial struggles. As such, there are rumours that Rashford may end up staying in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Sun claims Newcastle United<\/a> are ready to offer the forward a way out over the coming months. They reportedly believe St James’ Park would provide the ideal platform for the next step in his career.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe’s side, however, reputedly favour a loan deal as Rashford would provide competition for Alexander Isak. Barcelona<\/a>, though, is believed to be the player’s dream destination.<\/p>\n

Rashford leaving United this summer would mean vacating the number ten shirt. Matheus Cunha<\/a> appears to be the leading contender to take that shirt next term, having worn the same number during his final season with Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is some speculation that the club has yet to confirm their new signing’s number because the one he wants is currently unavailable. Rumours now also abound that Amad<\/a> is seeking a new shirt number.<\/p>\n

During the launch of the 2025\/26 United home kit, Amad shared an Instagram<\/a> post with the caption, “16 [hourglass emoji].” That, therefore, hints he is preparing to change from the number he has worn since 2021.<\/p>\n

Amad initially wore the number 19 shirt when he began playing for United’s senior team.
