In a new interview,<\/a> Rinna claimed there is significant \u201cpre-planning\u201d involved in the show, specifically orchestrated by producers. She even revealed that during filming, \u201can editor sits in the back room and writes down everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

If we\u2019re being honest, it\u2019s not a total shocker, but it\u2019s still juicy. So we\u2019re here for it!<\/p>\n

The actress-turned-reality-star, who spent eight seasons lighting up RHOBH with chaotic fashion and iconic one-liners, is finally confirming what fans have long suspected. In her words? The show is \u201cvery pre-planned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, Well, Well, Lisa Rinna Says It\u2019s All Planned<\/p>\n

Known for her bold looks, catchphrases, and never being far from the drama (hello, wine glass toss), Rinna was one of RHOBH\u2019s most talked-about figures. Now, she\u2019s getting candid about the reality behind the reality show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of people behind the scenes\u2014a lot of people that make a show like that work,\u201d Rinna said while on the \u201cDon\u2019t Talk About The Husbands\u201d podcast. \u201cIt looks very effortless. You see us, say, at a lunch scene. It\u2019s set up before\u2014everybody gets an email saying that it\u2019s coming up on Saturday, maybe in two weeks\u2026 You know that you\u2019re going to someone\u2019s house; you\u2019re going to show up at this time. They send cars for you [so] you get driven there because they don\u2019t want you to drink and drive.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThere\u2019s usually three cameras around you. It\u2019s usually set up around an event or a lunch, or a party. There\u2019s a lot of pre-planning that goes on. There\u2019s a lot of producers. It can go on for hours at a time\u2026 You never really know when it\u2019s going to end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Big yikes. So much for spur-of-the-moment drama.<\/p>\n

The Future of RHOBH & Rinna\u2019s Role in It<\/p>\n

Though Rinna announced her exit from RHOBH in early 2023, after years of stirring the pot and dividing the fanbase, she\u2019s not quite done with reality TV.<\/p>\n

With Season 14 of \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d <\/a>bringing in new cast members and reigniting old feuds, fans are already questioning just how \u201creal\u201d reality TV is.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey decide they want this person here first. So there\u2019s planning in that kind of stuff. There was waiting in the car a lot of times,\u201d Rinna revealed. \u201cThen they come out to your car, they mic you in your car\u2014they have to put a mic on your back\u2014and then they wait for something to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, <\/a>chimed in with a behind-the-scenes tidbit: \u201cThe amount of film that is actually run through those cameras relative to the amount that shows up on the TV screen\u2026 the editors go through hundreds and hundreds of hours of footage to find 42 minutes of film.\u201d<\/p>\n

And speaking of editors, Rinna had even more to say. \u201cI feel so sorry for those editors. They literally have somebody in a back room. So let\u2019s say we\u2019re filming at someone\u2019s house \u2014 they would take a little back room and set up a monitor. There\u2019s somebody there writing down everything everyone is saying in a scene. [They do this to] figure out what to use and where to go, and keep track.\u201d<\/p>\n

So while the glitz, glam, and tears may look spontaneous, it turns out much of it is mapped out long before the first sip of ros\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Rinna\u2019s Next Reality Move?\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re already missing Rinna\u2019s signature sass (and frankly, who isn\u2019t?), you\u2019ll be happy to know she\u2019s stepping into another reality space.<\/p>\n

Rinna is set to join the cast of \u201cThe Traitors\u201d Season 4,<\/a> the Emmy-winning reality competition show hosted by Alan Cumming<\/a>. And she won\u2019t be alone.
