Scooping up the \u00a31 million jackpot prizes are two lucky account holders in the north and south of England.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\">The first winning bond number of the million-pound prize is 494WG724922 to a bondholder based in South Yorkshire. This winner purchased their winning Bond in March 2022 and holds just \u00a343,165 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a>. The second \u00a31 million jackpot winner is based in Hertfordshire. Their winning Bond number is 418AW560890, and it was purchased in October 2020. They hold a total of \u00a350,000 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a>. While chances of winning increase with larger holdings, one <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> holder from Hereford and Worcester with a holding of \u00a3300 from February 2010 won a large \u00a350,000 prize this month.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Westhead, NS&amp;I retail director, said: &#8220;Huge congratulations to our winners in South Yorkshire and Hertfordshire \u2013 these April jackpots highlight the life-changing potential of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> for savers everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not just about the jackpot millionaires \u2013 this month, ERNIE awarded more than 5.9 million prizes worth over \u00a3412 million, giving many customers something to smile about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> holders can check if they&#8217;ve won a prize from April 2 on our quick and easy NS&amp;I prize checker app.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to check if you\u2019ve won Premium Bonds prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> holders can easily check if they&#8217;ve won a prize in the April draw by checking the NS&amp;I website, the prize checker app, or simply asking Alexa.<\/p>\n<p>To check on the NS&amp;I website, customers will need their <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> holder\u2019s number. They&#8217;ll need their NS&amp;I number or holder\u2019s number for the prize checker app. People can also check for any unclaimed prizes owed to them.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, 2,547,426 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> prize worth \u00a397,152,875 are waiting to be claimed.<\/p>\n<p>With a minimum investment of \u00a325, each \u00a31 Bond is entered into a monthly draw where savers have the chance to win tax-free prizes ranging from \u00a325 to \u00a31 million.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other savings accounts, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> don\u2019t pay interest. Instead, they offer the security of savings backed by HM Treasury with the excitement of potentially winning tax-free prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Prizes are split into three value bands &#8211; higher, medium, and lower &#8211; and each band receives a percentage share of the monthly prize fund.<\/p>\n<p>Prizes in the higher band can range from \u00a31 million (only two of these can be won) to \u00a35,000, while the medium and lower bands award people the chance to win between \u00a31,000 and \u00a3500, and \u00a3100 and \u00a325, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 5,914,009 prizes worth \u00a3412,009,175 will be paid out in the April 2025 prize draw. There were 130,108,160,431 Bond numbers eligible for the draw.<\/p>\n<p>The prize fund rate for the April <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> prize draw is 3.8%, and the odds of any \u00a31 Bond number winning a prize are 22,000 to one.<\/p>\n<p>All <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> prizes are free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax, so people will be pleased to know they can keep the entirety of their winnings.<\/p>\n<p>Winners are typically notified when they win a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/premium-bonds\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Bonds<\/a> prize.
