Florian Wirtz<\/a> dropped a strong hint about his ambitions for Liverpool<\/a> during his first official day at the club.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old was confirmed as a Liverpool player two days ago<\/a>, joining in a deal worth \u00a3100m plus \u00a316m in add-ons. The fee makes Wirtz Liverpool\u2019s most expensive signing in history, overtaking Darwin Nunez\u2019s <\/a>\u00a385m move in 2022.<\/p>\n

The German international wasted no time in laying out his lofty targets<\/a>. Speaking to the club\u2019s official website<\/a>, he said: “I would like to win everything every year! First of all, we have to do our work, I have to make my work.<\/p>\n

“In the end, we want to be successful. Last season they won the Premier League<\/a> so my goal is for sure to win it again and also to go further in the Champions League<\/a>. I’m really ambitious.”<\/p>\n

That ambition was clear from the moment he arrived. In a video shared on Liverpool\u2019s official Instagram, Wirtz could be seen enjoying his first day at the club.<\/p>\n

The new signing can be seen completing training drills, his media duties and being shown around the club’s AXA Training Centre.<\/p>\n

During his first tour of the club, Wirtz made time to pause and admire the club\u2019s trophy cabinet\u2014a small moment that speaks volumes about his mentality and desire to win silverware of his own.<\/p>\n

He arrives at Anfield full of belief,<\/a> joining a side that just lifted the Premier League title and is targeting more silverware under Arne Slot.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wirtz is no stranger to success himself. The midfielder was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen\u2019s historic unbeaten Bundesliga title win in 2023\/24, while also lifting the German Cup and German Super Cup.<\/p>\n

Although Leverkusen missed out on a treble after losing to Atalanta in the Europa League<\/a> final, Wirtz\u2019s impact didn\u2019t go unnoticed\u2014he was named both Bundesliga Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season.<\/p>\n

And he\u2019s already faced his new team once. Wirtz was part of the Leverkusen side that lost 4-0 at Anfield<\/a> last season, an experience that clearly left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n

“It was really tough to play here,” he continued. “I was still thinking about the game when I spoke to the coach or the other guys. It was an example [of] how it can be here.<\/p>\n

“As I said, it was really hard, we lost 4-0 and we had to run so much and lost almost every duel.
