Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and Terence Crawford<\/a> will meet in a huge showdown later this year.<\/p>\n

The two pound-for-pound greats will collide at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday 13 September<\/a>, and it will be broadcast live worldwide on Netflix.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the latest major fight for Canelo, with the Mexican superstar having been involved in some of the biggest bouts in the sport for over a decade.<\/p>\n

One of them came back in September 2013, when he took on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather<\/a> in a unification clash for the WBC and WBA super-welterweight titles at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Canelo was unbeaten heading into the bout, but Mayweather came out on top on points to hand his rival the first defeat of his professional career.<\/p>\n

With the Crawford fight quickly approaching, Canelo has now revealed to The Sun<\/a> who he deems to have been better out of \u2018Bud\u2019 and his former foe Mayweather.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Crawford is better than Mayweather because he turns his guard to both sides, he\u2019s more intelligent. I think he\u2019s better than Floyd Mayweather. That\u2019s what I think.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Crawford is a two-weight undisputed champion, having become the sole ruler of both the super-lightweight and welterweight divisions, with his success at 147lbs coming after memorable wins over the likes of Errol Spence and Shawn Porter.<\/a><\/p>\n

The clash against Canelo will be for the Mexican\u2019s undisputed super-middleweight crown, meaning a victory for \u2018Bud\u2019 would see him become the first male fighter in history to be undisputed in three divisions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will meet in a huge showdown later this year.
