Nick Kyrgios remains absent from the ATP Tour, which is edging closer to another edition of Wimbledon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kyrgios will miss the entire grass season<\/a>, which includes Wimbledon<\/a>, a tournament he reached the final of in 2022.<\/p>\n

The Australian lost his meeting with Novak Djokovic<\/a> at the All England Club, but did manage to win the Australian Open men\u2019s doubles title the same year.<\/p>\n

Former ATP Tour<\/a> number 13 Kyrgios<\/a> has, however, been limited to just five matches in the 2025 season so far.<\/p>\n

But Kyrgios has signed up for the new US Open mixed doubles event, where he will play with Naomi Osaka.<\/p>\n

Tennis fans were shocked by the US Open mixed doubles lineup<\/a>, but the hard court Grand Slam remains some way away in the calendar.<\/p>\n

Up next is Wimbledon, an event Kyrgios has now discussed with The Guardian<\/a>, having been asked if he thinks he came close to beating Djokovic in the 2022 final.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely,\u201d said Kyrgios. \u201cIt was only a couple of points here and there where, if I\u2019d acted a bit differently, I would have had a Wimbledon title. But there\u2019s no shame in losing to the greatest of all time.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I think about it often? Yes. Do I think about what I could have changed? Yes. Could I have prepared better? No. I prepared amazingly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nick Kyrgios doubles down on Novak Djokovic verdict<\/p>\n

Kyrgios and Djokovic were once fierce enemies on the court, but their rivalry has since turned into a friendship.<\/p>\n

And that friendship culminated in this year\u2019s Brisbane International tournament, where the pair played doubles together.<\/p>\n

The two icons put on a real show, winning their opener in style before falling in the round of 16 in Australia.<\/p>\n

The Australian currently finds himself 633rd in the ATP rankings as he remains sidelined, with the Serbian occupying fifth place.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios has now looked back on how their relationship has changed, having been asked if he was wrong to say Djokovic had a sick obsession with wanting to be liked.<\/p>\n

The Australian noted: \u201cNo. He\u2019s way more comfortable in his own skin now. I think he did want the crowd to love him but he enjoys being the villain.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe finds energy when people heckle him. He\u2019s the greatest tennis player of all time so he wouldn\u2019t care as much what people think now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have respect for each other and we are proof that different personalities can make it to the top and you don\u2019t have to have everyone liking you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
