Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk is in \u201ctrouble\u201d after an update has emerged on his potential ban.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The 24-year-old has been unable to play for the London giants since the beginning of December following his suspension. <\/p>\n Mudryk could be facing a lengthy ban<\/a> if he fails to prove his innocence despite insisting the \u201cadverse finding\u201d in a urine test came as a \u201ccomplete shock\u201d to him. <\/p>\n BBC<\/a>\u00a0Sport reported on 18 June the FA has now charged the Ukraine international with violating its anti-doping rules and he could face a four-year ban.\u00a0<\/p>\n Former Manchester United<\/a> midfielder Paul Pogba<\/a> was handed a four-year doping ban last year before his suspension was later reduced to 18 months on appeal. <\/p>\n Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> Mudryk is in \u201ctrouble\u201d and will face a \u201cvery serious\u201d ban. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Chelsea<\/a>\u00a0signed Mudryk on an eight-and-a-half-year contract from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, with the deal worth an initial \u00a362million and potentially rising to \u00a389million in add-ons.\u00a0<\/p>\n Borson insisted Mudryk is unlikely to receive a four-year ban despite the charges. <\/p>\n He told Football Insider<\/strong>: \u201cI don\u2019t know about a four-year ban, but clearly it looks like he\u2019s got a problem on his hands. <\/p>\n \u201cIt does look like he\u2019s probably going to get banned. Obviously, there has to be a hearing and all of the evidence has to be considered. <\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t know what his defence might be, but in doping cases, the athlete generally loses.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe know he\u2019s failed the test, and that\u2019s been tested as well. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a strict liability offence as well, which means that the kind of reasons are only partly mitigating, and you will have breached, so therefore are in trouble. <\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know whether it will be four years.
