Leanne Campbell has issued a plea to the city in a hopeful update. The radio star has remained busy after wrapping up her time on Hits Radio.<\/p>\n
Just a week after her final show on Hits Radio,<\/a> the beloved radio personality announced a new venture with a familiar voice. Reuniting with her former co-host Dave Kelly, the pair launched a brand-new podcast: Leanne and Dave\u2019s Daily Dose.<\/p>\n She also hosts her own podcast titled ‘Ladies of Liverpool’. Leanne recently chatted with a spokesperson from Sahir House, which is the oldest LGBTQ+ charity in the Liverpool City Region.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, LCR Pride Foundation, the organisation behind Pride in Liverpool and the city\u2019s annual March with Pride, “regretfully” announced the 2025 event, due to take place on Saturday, July 26, will not go ahead.<\/a><\/p>\n In a recent clip shared on social media, Leanne Campbell addressed the event and Sahir House’s attempt to save Liverpool Pride 2025. She said: “We’ve all heard the gut wrenching news- could Liverpool be missing a Pride event this year?”<\/p>\n She added: “No because it’s Liverpool and of course we’re going to make sure that doesn’t happen.” She asked: “What’s going to happen, how are we going to save Pride?”<\/p>\n The spokesperson for the charity announced they have kickstarted a fundraiser. He said: “We just need people to get behind the fundraiser really, we’ve set ourselves a target of \u00a360,000.”<\/p>\n Leanne added: “It’s down to the people of Liverpool and beyond to dig deep, speak to people they know who could possibly add to the funds.”<\/p>\n She also added to the comments on social media: “We want our legendary day in our legendary city.” A number of fans praised the star, one wrote: “Well done everyone this is amazing. So proud of our city always.” A second said: “Who better to push this cause than our very own @leannecampbellpower<\/a>.”<\/p>\n In a lengthy statement shared with the ECHO<\/a>, LCR Pride Foundation\u2019s Board of Directors announced the cancellation at the start of June.<\/p>\n It said: \u201cIt is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of this year\u2019s Pride in Liverpool and March with Pride. In recent months the charity has faced significant financial and organisational challenges, which have impacted timescales and resulted in it reverting to an almost entirely volunteer-led operation.<\/p>\n “This, combined with rising costs and difficulty securing national and local funding, has made it impossible to bring Pride in Liverpool to the city this year.”<\/p>\n But Leanne is keen to “make it happen”. The radio host has broadcast her final show for Hits Radio<\/a>, formerly known as Radio City, having co-hosted the show for more than 10 years.<\/p>\n The programme was the only one left on Hits Radio Liverpool that had a direct Merseyside link, after the Radio City breakfast show was combined with the one broadcast on Lancashire’s Rock FM.
