England Under 21 star Harvey Elliott has turned heads after leaving Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah<\/a> out of his ultimate dream five-a-side team. Even with a spot for subs to spice up his fantasy lineup, which includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara and Roberto Firmino, the young gun didn’t handpick Salah.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 22 year old whiz had just one rule: choose himself plus four teammates he’s shared the pitch with. No-brainer picks landed Alisson Becker in goal and Alexander-Arnold got the nod for defence, edging out Virgil van Dijk.<\/a><\/p>\n

With Elliott slotting himself in midfield alongside magician Thiago and Firmino leading the charge upfront, it left no room for Mo. When Rising Ballers probed him to create his squad, Elliott rolled off: “In goal, Alisson Becker. In defence, I would go… should I play with one? Go with Trent. Two midfielders, myself and Thiago. The striker would be Roberto Firmino.”<\/p>\n

But even when prompted to finally bring Salah into the fold given two substitute slots, Elliott favoured Luis Diaz and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the Egyptian king. The jury’s out on whether this was a mere oversight or if Elliott intentionally snubbed Salah from his selection.<\/p>\n

Salah’s incredible form for Liverpool has had a knock-on effect on Elliott’s playing time, leaving him with limited opportunities to shine on the right flank. To make matters worse, he’s also had to contend with stiff competition in midfield from the likes of Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, and Jones for a place in the starting line-up, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Fulham player’s first Premier League<\/a> start this season didn’t come until May 4, and he made just 18 top-flight appearances. He did, however, make an impact in the Champions League<\/a>, scoring three times in five outings, including a stunning late winner against Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n

Elliott’s future at Anfield has been shrouded in uncertainty, with reports suggesting he could be on his way out this summer as a possible \u00a340m transfer to Brighton being mooted. Speaking candidly at the Under-21 European Championship, he admitted: “It’s just a situation that me, and the team on my behalf, have to have a conversation about. I’m going to be 23 next season and I don’t really want to be wasting years of my career, as it’s a short career.<\/p>\n

“I just want to improve and be the best player I can be. If that’s to go somewhere else, then it’s a decision I’m going to have to make. Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team. I support them as well. It’s just about what’s best for my career.”<\/p>\n
