Everton are close to completing their second signing of the summer. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After Carlos Alcaraz, Kenny Tete is set to sign for Everton<\/a> on a three-year contract upon the expiry of his Fulham contract. <\/p>\n

Tete was in talks to extend his stay at Craven Cottage, but couldn\u2019t agree on a contract length, and so the Toffees have swooped in and met his demands. <\/p>\n

Fulham fans are really disappointed to see Tete<\/a> leave, as they feel he\u2019s one of the best defensive right-backs in the Premier League. <\/p>\n

So quite clearly, it\u2019s a smart bit of business from Everton<\/a>, and it addresses a key area that needed improvement. <\/p>\n

Now, David Moyes<\/a> and his chiefs have turned their attention to the opposite flank, with a left-back on the continent being eyed. <\/p>\n

Everton and Leeds are in a fair few transfer battles this summer. <\/p>\n

The Toffees are facing competition from Daniel Farke\u2019s men for Habib Diarra<\/a>, who is one of the most sought-after midfielders in Ligue 1.<\/p>\n

Callum Wilson is also wanted by Everton and Leeds<\/a>, and now, the Premier League duo are at it again for Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s according to Leeds Live<\/a>, who claim they\u2019re both keeping tabs on Gudmunsson after an impressive season in France. <\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was a stalwart last term and played a key role in their Champions League campaign, which saw them knocked out by Borussia Dortmund in the knockouts. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Wolves are also circling for Gudmunsson\u2019s signature, with it being suggested that he could leave for a discounted fee given his contract expires next year.<\/p>\n

Impressively, according to FBref\u2019s<\/a> underlying data, Gudmundsson is actually one of the best dribblers in Europe for his position. <\/p>\n

He ranks in the top eight per cent for progressive carries per 90 compared to his positional peers across the top five leagues, which is really encouraging. <\/p>\n

The Sweden international also sits in the top 10 per cent for successful take-ons, amplifying that point even further. <\/p>\n

From an attacking point of view, there aren\u2019t many better on the statistics, but defensively, Gudmundsson\u2019s numbers aren\u2019t convincing. <\/p>\n

The left-back isn\u2019t even in the top 65 per cent for tackles, blocks, clearances, and aerial duels won per 90.<\/p>\n
