Twenty-one cats rescued from a house fire in Birmingham will soon be looking for their forever homes.<\/p>\n

Police were “surprised” when they discovered the unusual amount of felines inside a burning property in Nechells<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

They were rescued from inside once firefighters had made the home safe.<\/p>\n

Police said the cats were taken to a shelter and will soon be looking for new homes.<\/p>\n

A West Midlands Police<\/a> spokesperson said: “We\u2019ve rescued over 20 cats from a house fire in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Earlier this month, our response officers were called to attend a fire at a property in Nechells<\/a>, Birmingham, to assist our fire colleagues.<\/p>\n

“After the house was made safe, officers entered the property and were surprised to discover 21 cats.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to some fantastic partnership work with WMFS and the RSPCA, all the cats were rescued and taken to a shelter.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re happy to report they\u2019re all safe, sound, and soaking up the cuddles.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019re now receiving the care they need and will soon be looking for new homes.<\/p>\n
