Neal Boosey, from Folkestone Boat Charter, was on board the Folkestone Voyager when several dolphins went up close to the boat, giving them a show yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were out on a trip with some people fishing on board,\u201d the skipper of the boat said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were quite close to Folkestone, just a few miles out, and they were dead ahead of us and initially came over to join us.<\/p>\n

Scroll down for video<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThey actually came within a few feet of the boat, and we were so amazed they came right alongside, so we stopped and just watched them for about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n \u201cThen we let them go into the distance. Normally, there\u2019s less than that when we see them, but it was quite a large pod.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a great experience. We don\u2019t see it every day, but it\u2019s nice when you do.\u201d<\/p>\n The video of their encounter has now reached more than 100,000 interactions on social media.<\/p>\n Common dolphins can be found in waters all around the UK, but are more common in the southern and western coastal areas.<\/p>\n They can grow to more than two-and-a-half metres in length, weigh as much as 150kg and live up to 35 years.<\/p>\n Folkestone seems to be a hot spot for dolphin spotting.<\/p>\n
