{"id":207,"date":"2025-04-01T02:45:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-01T02:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207\/"},"modified":"2025-04-01T02:45:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T02:45:10","slug":"matheus-cunha-comments-will-spark-manchester-united-hope-but-he-needs-to-have-full-faith-in-ruben-amorims-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207\/","title":{"rendered":"Matheus Cunha comments will spark Manchester United hope, but he needs to have full faith in Ruben Amorim&#8217;s plans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester United must land attacking signings this summer with Ruben Amorim surely eyeing additions in three key areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/what-are-ruben-amorims-tactics-man-united-fans-can-expect-spectacular-style-of-play-from-potential-new-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruben Amorim has brought his 3-4-2-1 system<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United<\/a>, and there have been mixed results so far.<\/p>\n<p>United have moved away from out-and-out wingers, with Amorim essentially playing two number 10\u2019s behind the striker.<\/p>\n<p>Alejandro Garnacho has been forced to adjust his game to fit into the side, whilst Joshua Zirkzee is now playing as a number 10.<\/p>\n<p>Amad is another factor in those roles, but Amorim may well be looking for United to invest in a quality attacking midfield player this summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manchester United given hope over Matheus Cunha<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>United will look far and wide for that kind of player, but the perfect option may actually be playing at Wolverhampton Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/matheus-cunha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matheus Cunha<\/a> continues to shine for Wolves, racking up 13 goals and four assists in just 26 Premier League games.<\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian\u2019s technical ability has been shining through in an attacking midfield role, sparking major interest in the process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/wolves-stance-on-matheus-cunha-revealed-as-man-utd-plot-2025-swoop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United were keen on Cunha<\/a> heading into January, but he signed a new contract at Molineux instead of moving on.<\/p>\n<p>Hailed as \u2018phenomenal\u2019 by former Wolves defender Max Kilman in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shropshirestar.com\/sport\/football\/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc\/2024\/01\/29\/wolves-skipper-hails-phenomenal-matheus-cunha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Shropshire Star<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/manchester-united-transfer-target-has-62million-release-clause-hes-perfect-for-ruben-amorims-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cunha can leave Wolves for \u00a362million<\/a> thanks to a release clause in that contract.<\/p>\n<p>United are unlikely to be alone in the race for Cunha, and the Wolves star has given interested clubs hope over a summer deal.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/mar\/30\/matheus-cunha-all-we-want-in-life-is-affection-wolves-gave-me-back-that-joy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Guardian<\/a>, Cunha has admitted he wants to take \u2018the next step\u2019 in his career away from Wolves.<\/p>\n<p>Cunha did not feel comfortable with the idea of leaving Wolves in January, given their battle against relegation, but now feels that he needs to leave With Wolves almost safe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a lot of offers but I wouldn\u2019t feel well if I had done it,\u201d said Cunha. \u201cSome things you can\u2019t control but I couldn\u2019t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, we\u2019re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I\u2019ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things.
