{"id":207175,"date":"2025-06-23T08:04:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T08:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207175\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T08:04:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T08:04:14","slug":"leeds-bradford-airport-welcomes-passengers-after-100m-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207175\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds Bradford Airport welcomes passengers after \u00a3100m extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/6858f6bce4c35.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/>\n                                    Leeds Bradford Airport staff celebrate its new \u00a3100m terminal extension.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has officially opened its brand new \u00a3100 million terminal.\u00a0\n        <\/p>\n<p>The opening marks the end of the first phase of the airport\u2019s ongoing terminal expansion project.<\/p>\n<p>All passengers arriving and departing via LBA will benefit from the upgraded terminal facilities, which support the airport\u2019s commitment to enhance customer service and regional connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>The completion of the terminal extension has introduced a modernised arrivals process, including a new baggage reclaim area and an upgraded passport control facility incorporating advanced security technologies, designed to make journeys smoother and more efficient.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new terminal also brings a significant 83% increase in seating, offering passengers more comfort and uninterrupted views of the runway.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the expanded terminal includes a broader food and drink offering, providing travellers with more variety and choice than ever before.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DK_yKVnMyKV\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>To further enhance the pre-flight experience, passengers can now enjoy access to two premium lounges, including the brand-new Six Eight One Premium Lounge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Designed with comfort and style in mind, the Six Eight One Lounge offers a relaxing space to unwind before departure, complete with seasonal menus featuring freshly prepared, locally sourced produce.<\/p>\n<p>Vincent Hodder, CEO, Leeds Bradford Airport said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to see our new terminal extension open and operational today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been an incredible journey to get here and we know our customers are going to get a completely new experience from LBA from today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an exciting time for us too; for our employees, stakeholders and business partners, the opening of this building is a huge achievement for all involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Work on Phase 2 of the project has begun focusing on refurbishing the existing terminal to further improve passenger experience and modernise existing terminal infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>This will lead to some changes to the usual passenger flows, particularly for those departing from the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival at the terminal, passengers will notice hoardings and scaffolding at the terminal front, a relocated Meet &amp; Greet parking area, and changes to bus pick-up and drop-off zones.<\/p>\n<p>John Cunliffe, Commercial Director of Leeds Bradford Airport said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cToday is a huge milestone for Leeds Bradford Airport.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur new terminal is officially open and ready to welcome passengers, offering improve facilities and enabling us to deliver an enhanced experience for passengers in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we transition into Phase 2 of the project, the changes will impact the usual passenger flows, and we\u2019d like to thank passengers in advance for their understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>    <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Leeds Bradford Airport staff celebrate its new \u00a3100m terminal extension.
