It wants to sell booze from noon until 1am, seven days a week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <\/strong><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/temporary-travellers-sites-plan-birmingham-31895148\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Temporary travellers sites plan in Birmingham pushed back as caravans pull up at parks<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The premises would also remain open to the public from noon until 1.30am, according to a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham-city-council\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">licensing<\/a> report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But the proposals were met with opposition from several residents who live nearby in the up-and-coming neighbourhood amid concerns over the feared impact on antisocial behaviour and noise levels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThis is a residential area and the number of bars impacting upon our quality of life is becoming unacceptable as the noise levels affect our sleeping patterns,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Another resident said they were concerned the proposals could cause \u201csignificant noise nuisance into the small hours\u201d as well as an \u201cincrease in antisocial behaviour\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A third Stirchley local said they \u201cabsolutely support independent hospitality venues\u201d but they found the bar\u2019s plans \u201ctotally unnecessary\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_JS304795879.jpg\" alt=\"A general view of Stirchley in 2023\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>A general view of Stirchley(Image: Martin O&#8217;Callaghan\/Birmingham Live)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI support the vibrancy and success of local establishments, which add to the character of our area,\u201d one objector wrote. \u201cHowever, my concern lies with the potential negative impact of extending opening hours on the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">They claimed residents in the immediate area were affected by \u201cloud behaviour from patrons lingering outside the venue or in the surrounding streets during dispersal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A number of conditions for the bar have been proposed, however, including that a senior member of staff would be on duty at all times during events and that no noise emanating from the premises would cause nuisance to any \u2018noise-sensitive\u2019 properties in the vicinity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Another was to make sure all external doors and windows are kept closed, other than for access and exit, when activities involving amplified music or speech are taking place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The application will be considered by a city council licensing sub-committee tomorrow on June 24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <\/strong><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/birmingham-council-issues-xl-bully-31892598\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Birmingham Council issues XL bully update amid \u2018real risk\u2019 from abandoned dogs<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Stirchley was named as the best place to live in the Midlands by <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/article\/stirchley-birmingham-england-best-place-to-live-uk-2024-ghrld8xw7\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">The Sunday Times<\/a> last year, with judges rating the &#8216;down-to-earth&#8217; neighbourhood for its selection of restaurants, bars and cafes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The suburb also received praise for its good schools, transport links to the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham-city-centre\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">city centre<\/a> and &#8216;visible community spirit&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Birmingham&#8217;s Deadbeat bar wants to extend the hours it can sell alcohol &#8211;
