Over the past few days, you may have noticed when trying to start a game on Xbox, you’re being presented with an extra page full of information about the title – and this change has definitely proven controversial with some.<\/p>\n

Basically, a lot of people just don’t want to press an extra button in order to start their games, and the good news is there’s an easy way to turn these Xbox “Game Hubs” off via your console’s settings menu.<\/p>\n

Here’s exactly what you need to do to turn off Game Hubs on Xbox:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to My Games and Apps<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Go to Apps<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Go to Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Go to General<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Go to Personalisation<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Go to Games and Apps<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Scroll to the right<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Uncheck the boxes next to “choose whether game hubs open automatically from the following places”.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you do all of that correctly, you should be left with the following screen with three unchecked boxes:<\/p>\n

    If you’re wondering where Xbox Game Hubs came from<\/a>, they were first added for Xbox Insiders way back in March, and people quickly provided feedback that they weren’t fans of having to press an extra button to access their games.<\/p>\n

    As a result, a change was made<\/a> to make “X” the default button for launching into the games automatically from your recently played games list, whereas using A would open up the Game Hub for that title instead. That’s always an option if you’d prefer not to turn them off – we find them quite interesting and don’t want to get rid entirely!<\/p>\n
