{"id":207857,"date":"2025-06-23T14:23:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T14:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207857\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T14:23:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T14:23:13","slug":"cult-fried-chicken-brand-backed-by-drake-announces-manchester-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/207857\/","title":{"rendered":"Cult fried chicken brand backed by Drake announces Manchester opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurant, co-owned by Drake, is famed for its hot chicken sliders and will boast an interior inspired by Manchester&#8217;s rave scene<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1_DBR_MEN_2306525Dave_02.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken is to open in Manchester at The Printworks in August 2025(Image: Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Cult American fried chicken restaurant Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken has announced it is to open its first Manchester venue this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The L.A. fried chicken brand, backed by music icon Drake, recently opened its first store in London.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It sparked massive demand and huge queues right down Shaftesbury Avenue for its hot chicken dishes and bold flavours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Now, the expanding restaurant group has announced it will open its third UK venue in Manchester this August.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1_DBR_MEN_2306525Dave_04JPG.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>It&#8217;s known for its fried chicken and epic sides(Image: Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The location for the eatery will be inside The Printworks entertainment complex in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-city-centre\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester city centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Manchester site\u2019s menu will be the same as Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken\u2019s flagship site in London, including Dave\u2019s signature Sliders, Tenders, Top-loaded Shakes and Slushers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Dave&#8217;s is known for its signature Nashville-style hot chicken &#8211; which you can get served in seven spice levels from \u201cNo Spice\u201d to \u201cReaper\u201d &#8211; as well as its &#8220;next level&#8221; milkshakes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">And bosses have revealed the interior will be inspired by &#8220;Manchester&#8217;s rave scene&#8221; featuring an &#8220;industrial design&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1_JRP_MEN_280524_printworks_002JPG.jpg\" alt=\"Walkabout, in The Printworks, will also be running the free entry and two free drinks offer\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken is heading to The Printworks(Image: Manchester Evening News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A statement from the brand said: &#8220;Located in Printworks Manchester, the fiery new spot will have 139 covers and reside alongside a cinema, clubs and eateries. Whether visiting for a film, a night out or a bite with friends, Dave\u2019s is set to become Manchester\u2019s hottest new food obsession.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The space will take its cue from Manchester\u2019s iconic warehouse rave scene with an industrial design &#8211; think towering ceilings, exposed steelwork, and laser lights. It\u2019ll be a full on sensory trip, where music, light and fried chicken will come together to create a high-voltage experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Adding to the edge whilst nodding to the brand\u2019s L.A. roots, the space will be brought to life with bold, custom graffiti inspired by legendary L.A.-based street artists <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/splatterhaus\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"SplatterhausLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Splatterhaus<\/a> and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dehmq\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"DehmqLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Dehmq<\/a> &#8211; whose work has become a signature across all Dave\u2019s locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Their work combines the dynamic spirit of Los Angeles with Manchester\u2019s raw, creative vibe, transporting guests into a whole new world of fried chicken indulgence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_DBR_MEN_2306525DaveJPG.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Mouth-watering fried food(Image: Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Manchester marks a major milestone in the brand\u2019s UK journey, following the successful debut in London\u2019s Shaftesbury Avenue, which still sees hour-long queues months past opening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Birmingham is set to open in July, ahead of Manchester, amid plans for a nationwide expansion of the brand with the aim of becoming &#8220;the hottest name in fast-casual dining&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jim Attwood, Managing Director of Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken UK, said: &#8220;Printworks Manchester is the ideal setting for our next UK site &#8211; right at the heart of one of the country\u2019s most exciting cities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;The new restaurant pays homage to Manchester\u2019s legendary warehouse rave scene, with an industrial-inspired design and bold, high-energy atmosphere to match our signature flavours. We can\u2019t wait to bring something fresh to this iconic venue and its vibrant mix of entertainment, food and culture\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The brand was created in 2017 by three childhood friends, Chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan and Tommy Rubenyan, who scraped together $900 to launch Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken in a parking lot, portable fryers and folding tables in tow.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1_Drakes-Till-Death-Do-Us-Part-Rap-Battle-Event.jpg\" alt=\"Drake\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Drake came on board as an investor on Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken after trying the food(Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It quickly took off, opening an East Hollywood brick-and-mortar restaurant shortly after, with support from Tommy\u2019s brother, Gary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In 2019, the team struck a deal with Wetzel\u2019s Pretzels co-founder and former CEO, Bill Phelps, to begin franchising the Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken concept, with Billboard\u2019s Artist of the Decade, Drake, investing in the brand as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The company has sold the rights to more than 1,000 franchise locations in the U.S., Middle East and Canada and will open 80-plus locations this year.
