Carlos Alcaraz secured his second Queen’s Club title on Sunday, defeating Jiri Lehecka in the final after dispatching Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4 6-4 in the semi-finals. <\/p>\n

The five-time Grand Slam winner’s dominant performance caught the attention of Emma Raducanu, who watched from the stands at Queen’s, while Alcaraz admitted he would love to return the favour.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Spaniard, who previously won the tournament in 2023, showcased impressive form on grass ahead of his Wimbledon title defence.<\/p>\n

His semi-final victory was particularly commanding, with Raducanu among the spectators as she prepared for her own grass-court campaign at Eastbourne.<\/p>\n

The pair will team up for mixed doubles at the US Open later this year, following a special request from Alcaraz himself.<\/p>\n

“I was thinking that I couldn’t play better if it wasn’t with Emma,” Alcaraz revealed earlier this week.<\/p>\n

“I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me, I made that special request.”<\/p>\n

The world number two admitted that “she took a while” to respond to his proposal, but the partnership has already been dubbed ‘Alcaranu’ by tennis fans.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to their collaboration, Alcaraz joked: “She’s going to be the boss.”<\/p>\n

Despite not being able to speak with Raducanu after his semi-final victory, Alcaraz expressed his appreciation for her support: “I saw on social media she came up to watch my match. I’m just glad.”<\/p>\n

When asked about potentially watching Raducanu’s upcoming matches, the Spaniard was enthusiastic.<\/p>\n

“Well, it depends on the schedule, obviously. I have practices, I have matches. I would love to, if I have the time,” Alcaraz explained.<\/p>\n

“If I’m at the club or I don’t have anything else to do, yeah, I would love to come and watch her. I’m watching her matches from the TV every time that I can. So watching her in real [life] could be fun.”<\/p>\n

The two-time Wimbledon champion also noted their longstanding connection: “I’ve known Emma for a really long time and I have a really good relationship with her.”<\/p>\n

Alcaraz declared his readiness for Wimbledon with an ominous warning: “Grass mode is activated.” <\/p>\n

The defending champion at the All England Club arrived at Queen’s with modest expectations.<\/p>\n

“I came here with no expectations at all. I just came here with a goal to play two, three matches, try to feel great on grass moving and give myself the feedback of what I have to improve.<\/p>\n

“But I got used to the grass really quick, and I’m just really proud about it.
