\n\tTom Cruise<\/a> made a surprise appearance at the \u201cF1<\/a>\u201d premiere in London, joining Brad Pitt<\/a> on the red carpet as the two A-list stars posed for photographs together. It was a reunion 31 years in the making as Pitt and Cruise starred together in Neil Jordan\u2019s 1994 horror classic \u201cInterview With the Vampire.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPitt made headlines <\/a>earlier this month by telling E! News at the Mexico premiere for \u201cF1\u201d that he would be interested in acting opposite Cruise again, although the \u201cOnce Upon a Time in Hollywood\u201d Oscar winner is not too interested in matching Cruise\u2019s love for aerial stunts. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, I\u2019m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that,\u201d Pitt quipped about reuniting with Cruise on the big screen. \u201cSo when he does something again that\u2019s on the ground, [then yes].\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth Cruise and Pitt are headlining two of the summer movie season\u2019s biggest tentpole releases. Cruise was back as Ethan Hunt in May\u2019s \u201cMission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning,\u201d which set a franchise opening weekend record with $200 million globally. The Paramount-backed action movie has since earned $540 million and counting. Pitt, meanwhile, is the star of Apple and Warner Bros.\u2019 racing movie \u201cF1,\u201d directed by Cruise\u2019s \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d helmer Joseph Kosinski. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer also worked on both movies.<\/p>\n

\n\tKosinski recently revealed to GQ magazine<\/a>\u00a0that he originally planned to reunite Cruise and Pitt on the big screen for his own version of the racing drama \u201cFord v Ferrari,\u201d although the studio never approved his budget. Cruise and Pitt were planning to do all their own driving in the film, which Pitt now achieved in \u201cF1.\u201d James Mangold ended up directing \u201cFord v Ferrari\u201d with Christian Bale and Matt Damon instead.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled,\u201d Kosinski said when asked by GQ about what would\u2019ve happened had Cruise starred in \u201cF1\u201d over Pitt. \u201cThey both have the natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPitt\u2019s \u201cF1\u201d opens in theaters June 27.<\/p>\n
