Floyd Mayweather<\/a> retired from boxing with a perfect record nearly a decade ago.<\/p>\n

The boxing legend was a five-weight world champion after capturing gold from super-featherweight to super-welterweight, taking part in some of the biggest fights in the sport\u2019s history during that time.<\/p>\n

Mayweather defeated fellow greats such as Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez during his illustrious career,<\/a> but the American has now announced that there have been talks about a rematch against one of his former foes.<\/p>\n

The last time Mayweather stepped into a professional ring came back in August 2017, when he had a crossover bout with MMA fighter Conor McGregor.<\/p>\n

It was viewed by most educated fans as a major mismatch due to McGregor never having boxed professionally before, with Mayweather claiming a 10th round stoppage victory at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Despite the massive gulf inside the ring, it was still a huge commercial success, generating a gate of over 55 million dollars, along with 4.3 million pay-per-view buys.<\/p>\n

The money that was generated meant that the pair have continuously been linked to a rematch with one another, and now Mayweather has revealed to Clocked n Loaded<\/a> that talks have taken place.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is possible. There\u2019s talks. Anything can happen, we don\u2019t know what the future holds.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If a rematch was to ever take place, it is likely it would be an exhibition contest, rather than a professional bout.
