She is a former panellist on ITV<\/a>\u2019s Loose Women<\/a>, a model and works for the Police force.<\/p>\n

But for Penny Lancaster<\/a>, it was King Charles<\/a> who helped her realise she was more than just \u2018Rod Stewart<\/a>\u2019s wife\u2019.<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old attended an award ceremony for the King\u2019s Foundation earlier this month and presented an award at Buckingham Palace<\/a> alongside other ambassadors.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the honor, Penny said: \u2018When I met the King he looked down the line at everybody either side of me. It was Alan Titchmarsh, David Beckham<\/a>, Kate Winslet<\/a> and Meryl Streep<\/a> and he said, \u201cThis is my favourite special constable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018So now, that\u2019s my intro, I\u2019m not just Rod Stewart\u2019s wife. It\u2019s never that anymore, it used to be Loose Women but now it\u2019s Special Constable.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the We\u2019re Not Getting Any Younger podcast yesterday [MON], she added: \u2018I was on the coattails of my husband for a long time but now I\u2019ve gained a lot more confidence and a lot of healing and Rod\u2019s now a lot more happy for me to lead the way.\u2019<\/p>\n

A lot of laughs! The celebrities appeared to be in great spirits as they attended the occasion<\/p>\n

Penny completed her training as a Special Constable in 2021 for the City of London police and works as a volunteer, covering events such as the Queen\u2019s funeral and the coronation of King Charles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The mother-of-one has been married to the Maggie May singer for 18 years in 2007 and celebrated their anniversary last week.<\/p>\n

The couple celebrated by holidaying in Portino, Italy, where they exchanged their vows almost two decades ago after seven years of dating.<\/p>\n

Sir Rod, 80, has eight children with five different women, two of whom are sons Alistair, 19, and Aidan, 14, which he shares with Penny, his third wife.<\/a><\/p>\n

While the You Wear It Well singer has enjoyed various relationships throughout his life, he described Ms Lancaster as \u2018the most gorgeous woman ever\u2019.<\/p>\n

It comes as the Faces frontman is due to headline Glastonbury Festival on Sunday in the prestigious Legend\u2019s slot at Worthy Farm.<\/p>\n
