Jonny Evans is set to stay Manchester United<\/p>\n

Northern Ireland legend Jonny Evans is set to stay at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

The defender is on the brink of accepting a youth development role at Manchester United, that will see Evans placed in charge of the club\u2019s loan deals.<\/p>\n

Evans will help place United\u2019s brightest young stars at suitable clubs and the support the players whilst they are out on loan, according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n

His former international and club teammate Chris Brunt performs a similar role at West Bromwich Albion.<\/p>\n

Evans is no stranger to a loan deal, himself. As a young United player, he benefited from loan deals at Royal Antwerp and Sunderland. The role was previously held by Les Parry, who left United to work for Neom SC in Saudi Arabi midway through last season.<\/p>\n

Evans, 37, returned to United in 2023 after eight years away from the club where he made his name, winning the FA Cup in 2024. He hung up his boots following United\u2019s end-of-season tour of Asia last month, but this new job means he will remain connected to his boyhood club.<\/p>\n

In his first stint at Old Trafford, Evans won three Premier League titles, two League Cups, a Champions League and a Club World Cup before leaving for West Brom in 2015. Across his two stints at United, Evans played 241 games, scoring eight goals.<\/p>\n

At international level, Evans won 107 caps for Northern Ireland between 2006 and 2024. He helped Michael O\u2019Neill\u2019s team reach the last 16 at Euro 2016, in France.<\/p>\n
