Voters have been urged to avoid \u201ca second helping of Nigel Farage\u2019s easy answers\u201d on the ninth anniversary of the Brexit referendum.<\/p>\n

Despite mounting evidence of the huge economic damage that quitting the EU has done to the British economy, the Farage-led Reform UK are soaring ahead in the opinion polls.<\/p>\n

According to some estimates,<\/a> leaving the European single market has cost the British economy \u00a3115 billion per year and the public purse more than \u00a340 billion annually.<\/p>\n

The independent financial watchdog the Office for Budget Responsibility<\/a> has also that the UK\u2019s imports and exports will be 15% lower in the long-run than if Brexit had not happened.<\/p>\n

New polling from YouGov<\/a> also showed the majority of British people would now vote to remain a member of the EU, with just three in 10 saying leaving the bloc was the right decision.<\/p>\n

Naomi Smith, chief executive of the pro-EU campaign group Best for Britain, told HuffPost UK: \u201cThe forces which brought us Brexit remain a clear and present danger in our politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cRepeated polling shows the public overwhelmingly regret Brexit and want closer collaboration with our European neighbours and allies.<\/p>\n

\u201cVoters deserve better than a second helping of Nigel Farage\u2019s easy answers, which have only made Britain weaker and poorer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nick Harvey, chief executive of the European Movement think-tank, told HuffPost UK: \u201cIt\u2019s long been clear that Brexit achieved none of its promises.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Britain\u2019s EU departure was\u201ca sustained and worsening blow to the UK economy\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat has made us all poorer, depleted our economy and weakened our country with a thousand tiny cuts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFar from settling the questions over Britain\u2019s relationship with Europe, it\u2019s left gaping holes and rampant uncertainty, creating instead a political landscape where Nigel Farage\u2019s Reform party can flourish.\u201d<\/p>\n
