A warning has been issued to parents and carers following reports of a child being ‘approached’ near to a school in Oldham<\/a>.<\/p>\n The notice, sent out by the St Joseph’s RC Primary School on Monday (June 23) said that they were made aware of a report from a child who walks to and from school alone.<\/p>\n It claimed that the child ‘felt unsure’ after being approached by an unknown woman who began asking questions such as their name and what school they attended.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n “The woman did not attempt to approach the school or cause harm, but understandably, the pupil felt uncomfortable,” the message read.<\/p>\n “We’re sharing this so you can have a gentle reminder chat with your children about being safe when travelling to and from school – especially if they walk alone.<\/p>\n “Please remind them to stay aware, walk with others where possible and always report anything that doesn’t feel right to a trusted adult straight away.”<\/p>\n The school has been approached for comment by the Manchester Evening News.<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n Day in day out, our reporters in the Manchester Evening News newsroom bring you remarkable stories from all aspects of Mancunian life.
