The PC version will still release this week, but console players will have to wait a while longer after Nightdive Studios encountered &#8220;issues&#8221; preventing it from launching.<\/p>\n<p>In a social media message, the Washington-based studio explained: &#8220;We have encountered issues that have prevented us from launching System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on consoles, including Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation, on June 26 as originally intended.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch versions are &#8220;targeting the first two weeks of July&#8221; for a console launch.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" align=\"center\"><p>Important update regarding the upcoming release of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FI7hSU5Pti\">pic.twitter.com\/FI7hSU5Pti<\/a>\u2014 Nightdive Studios (@NightdiveStudio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NightdiveStudio\/status\/1937269550078443883?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 23, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Much more of a standard remaster compared to the complete overhaul the original System Shock received last year, the sequel&#8217;s re-release is still close, but not quite as close as it once was.
