A fire engine and three 4×4 brigade response vehicles responded to the fire at the hotel at St Chad’s Queensway in Birmingham City Centre<\/p>\n

A fire erupted on the rooftop of a 19-storey hotel in Birmingham<\/a> city centre today, Tuesday, June 24.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Fire Service<\/a> rushed to the Holiday Inn Express Snowhill, located at St Chad’s Queensway, from 12.15pm.<\/p>\n

A fire engine and three 4×4 brigade response vehicles were called after the blaze involving a telephone transmitter.<\/p>\n

Firefighters used extinguishers to put out the fire which could be seen in video footage posted above.<\/p>\n

While the united was taken apart, the fire service added.<\/p>\n

A fire service spokesman told BirminghamLive: “Shortly after 12.15pm on Tuesday (24 June), we responded to St Chad’s Queensway in Birmingham City Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holiday Inn Express Snowhill rooftop fire <\/p>\n

“A fire engine and three 4×4 brigade response vehicles responded, crewed by firefighters from Highgate, Aston and Ladywood stations.<\/p>\n

“The first crew arrived at the scene within four minutes of being mobilised.<\/p>\n

“This was a fire affecting a telephone transmitter on a hotel roof. Firefighters used extinguishers to put out the fire.<\/p>\n

“The unit was dismantled and advice was given to the site manager.<\/p>\n
