The Australian conservationist and Ambassador of William\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Earthshot Prize spoke warmly about the Prince of Wales as the duo teamed up for London Climate Action Week. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u0080\u009cI talk to him about animals, and like, he is on it. He knows exactly what’s going on,\u00e2\u0080\u009d the 21-year-old told People magazine. \u00e2\u0080\u009cIn most conversations I have with His Royal Highness, I learn something. I really do.\u00e2\u0080\u009d<\/p>\n
His praise comes just days after William and Kate faced criticism from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for breeding their Cocker Spaniel, Orla. <\/p>\n
The animal rights organisation called the move \u00e2\u0080\u009cstaggeringly out of touch,\u00e2\u0080\u009d citing the global dog homelessness crisis. <\/p>\n
But sources told the Daily Mail that the couple\u00e2\u0080\u0099s decision to breed Orla was made to comfort their three young children \u00e2\u0080\u0094 Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 \u00e2\u0080\u0094 during Princess Kate\u00e2\u0080\u0099s ongoing cancer treatment.<\/p>\n
Irwin, the son of late wildlife icon Steve Irwin, went on to emphasise the future king\u00e2\u0080\u0099s genuine passion for conservation. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u0080\u009cIt\u00e2\u0080\u0099s this genuine sense of passion. I love that passion. Like that\u00e2\u0080\u0099s what I seek.
