Bobby Sherman, the actor best known for Here Come the Brides and a 1960s teen idol, has died at the age of 81.<\/p>\n

The news came just months after his wife of 29 years, Brigitte Poublon, announced his diagnosis with stage four kidney cancer. <\/p>\n

Actor John Stamos, an ambassador for the couple\u2019s charity, shared the news in an Instagram post, captioned: \u201cFrom one ex-teen idol, to another – rest in peace Bobby Sherman.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a heartfelt statement from his wife, shared by Stamos, Poublon said: \u201cBobby left this world holding my hand – just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was his Cinderella, and he was my prince charming. Even in his final days, he stayed strong for me. That\u2019s who Bobby was – brave, gentle, and full of light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sherman rose to fame as Jeremy Bolt in Here Come the Brides, and became a household name with a string of chart-topping hits. <\/p>\n

Songs such as \u201cJulie, Do Ya Love Me,\u201d \u201cEasy Come, Easy Go,\u201d \u201cLa La La,\u201d and \u201cLittle Woman\u201d all landed in the Billboard Hot 100\u2019s top 10 in 1969 and 1970.<\/p>\n

He later appeared in TV shows including Getting Together, Mod Squad, The Love Boat, Sanchez of Bel Air, and Frasier. <\/p>\n

However, despite his success in music and acting, Sherman left the entertainment industry to pursue a life of service, becoming a technical reserve police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and working as an EMT until his retirement in 2024.<\/p>\n

Poublon announced Sherman\u2019s kidney cancer diagnosis in a Facebook post on March 25, and later revealed to Fox News that he was \u201cat home with special care\u201d towards the end. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and\u2026 he\u2019s just sleeping more and his body\u2019s not working anymore. It\u2019s not. Everything’s shutting down,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

While resting in his final days, Sherman listened to letters from fans \u201call over the world,\u201d Poublon said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe soaked up every word with that familiar sparkle in his eye. And yes, he still found time to crack well-timed jokes – Bobby had a wonderful, wicked sense of humor. It never left him. He could light up a room with a look, a quip, or one of his classic one-liners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut to those who truly knew him, Bobby was something much more,\u201d she continued. \u201cHe was a man of service. He traded sold-out concerts and magazine covers for the back of an ambulance, becoming an EMT and a trainer with the LAPD. He saved lives. He showed us what real heroism looks like – quiet, selfless, and deeply human.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe lived with integrity, gave without hesitation, and loved with his whole heart. And though our family feels his loss profoundly, we also feel the warmth of his legacy – his voice, his laughter, his music, his mission.\u201d<\/p>\n
