After two years as the tough no-nonsense matriarch Marie Fielding, Rita Simons <\/a>has quit Hollyoaks<\/a>. <\/p>\n The former EastEnders<\/a> star confirmed the news on her social media<\/a> channels, writing on Instagram<\/a> that she\u2019s going to be \u2018saying bye bye\u2019 to her Channel 4<\/a> soap counterpart in the autumn. <\/p>\n No, you\u2019re crying. <\/p>\n \u2018Since Marie Fielding stepped into Hollyoaks village, she\u2019s sufficiently messed up all her boys lives, Caused ALL the carnage and fallen off the wagon a few times\u2026so her job here is done!,\u2019 she said, alongside a few snaps from her time on the show. <\/p>\n \u2018On a personal note, when I first came to Liverpool<\/a> I was still figuring out how find balance in my mind and body after a total hystorectomy (which was the best journey I ever went on in the end!).<\/p>\n \u2018This beautiful, welcoming city has healed me more than I can ever explain.
