X-Men \u201997<\/a> creator Beau DeMayo<\/a> is weighing in on Marvel<\/a>\u2019s long-delayed Blade<\/a><\/strong> movie.<\/p>\n

DeMayo created the Marvel Animation X-Men \u201997 television show, which premiered on Disney+ in March 2024. Shortly before the show premiered, DeMayo was fired as head writer on the show, though he still receives credit for the forthcoming second season.<\/p>\n

Blade, meanwhile, is an MCU<\/a> project that has had a tough time getting off the ground. It was initially announced back in 2019 that Mahershala Ali<\/a> would play the infamous vampire hunter; however, while Ali had an uncredited voice cameo in 2021\u2019s Eternals, the movie has not yet come to fruition and does not have a release date at this time.<\/p>\n

Ali briefly addressed the matter<\/a> while making an appearance at the New York premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth, saying, \u201cCall Marvel. I\u2019m ready. Let them know I\u2019m ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

David S. Goyer, who was heavily involved in the original Blade trilogy starring Wesley Snipes, recently provided a semi-positive update<\/a> on the project, as he said he reached out to Marvel to offer his assistance, but they told him they were currently \u201cin a good place.\u201d Having said that, there\u2019s been no concrete Blade news in a while, leaving many fans to wonder if the film will ever see the light of day.<\/p>\n

What did Beau DeMayo say about Blade?<\/p>\n

On X<\/a>, DeMayo posted about an article regarding Marvel turning down Goyer\u2019s offer, saying, \u201cThis is their MO[.] Marvel Studios<\/a> remains their own worst enemy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He wrote in another post<\/a> about Ali\u2019s comments, \u201cThis is just so sad. Like, the shade he\u2019s throwing.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the future of Blade remains unclear, it\u2019s been confirmed that not just a second, but also a third season of X-Men \u201997 is being developed.
