{"id":212224,"date":"2025-06-25T04:34:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T04:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/212224\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T04:34:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T04:34:09","slug":"wales-to-benefit-from-new-uk-industrial-investment-plan-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/212224\/","title":{"rendered":"Wales to benefit from new UK industrial investment plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                Wrexham.com &gt; News\n              <\/p>\n<p> <strong>Posted:<\/strong> Wed 25th Jun 2025 <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1750826049_747_Screenshot-2025-06-22-at-22.09.27-840x468.jpg\" alt=\"Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Wales is set for increased economic growth, billions in investment and tens of thousands of new jobs over the next decade as a result of the UK Government\u2019s modern Industrial Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy will cut electricity costs for more than 7,000 UK manufacturers by up to 25 per cent and establish a centre for doctoral training in semiconductors, led by Swansea University, building on the world-leading cluster in south Wales.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t           &#13;<br \/>\n\t\t         &#13;<br \/>\n\t\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>From 2027, the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme will reduce electricity costs by up to \u00a340 per megawatt hour for electricity-intensive firms in sectors such as automotive, aerospace and chemicals, exempting them from levies including the Renewables Obligation, Feed-in Tariffs and the Capacity Market.<\/p>\n<p>Wales will receive more than \u00a34 billion for its advanced manufacturing sector over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p>Wales has a leading advanced manufacturing sector with companies such as Airbus based in Broughton.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Additional support includes a defence growth deal cluster, a new British Business Bank champion for the Cardiff Capital Region, and a \u00a330 million Local Innovation Partnerships Fund delivered with Welsh Government and Innovate UK.<\/p>\n<p>The National Wealth Fund will work with the Development Bank of Wales to secure financing for major investment projects, while a new \u00a3600 million Strategic Sites Accelerator aims to boost the supply of investible sites.<\/p>\n<p>Jo Stevens, Secretary of State for Wales, said:\u201cWales has huge potential and our government\u2019s Industrial Strategy will harness the strengths of our businesses and workforce to drive growth and create jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strategy will support key sectors like aerospace and compound semiconductors while developing industries of the future like floating offshore wind where Wales is well-placed to be a world leader<\/p>\n<p>\u201c.Our modern Industrial Strategy is built to last and make Wales one of the best places to invest and do business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking alongside Welsh Government we will boost growth, raise wages and create wealth across our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spotted something?
