Russell T Davies<\/a> has provided an update on his upcoming Channel 4<\/a> series, Tip Toe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The five-part series, which was announced in February<\/a>, will focus on Leo and Clive, two figures who live next door to each other in Manchester. As the world around them becomes more tense, the neighbours become enemies.<\/p>\n

Davies, best known for his work on Doctor Who<\/a> and It’s a Sin<\/a>, has provided an update on the upcoming drama via Instagram<\/a>, confirming that the initial scripts are now fully written and the show will debut in 2026.<\/p>\n

“Finished! 5 episodes, Channel 4 2026, made by @quaystreetproductions @nicolanshindler @philcollinson @pjuk @andypryorcasting @channel4” he captioned the post, which included a photo of the completed script for episode five.<\/p>\n

“Fantastic! smiling & intrigued,” wrote Katy Manning, who collaborated with Davies on The Sarah Jane Adventures, while former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson commented: “Yes yes yes.”<\/p>\n

“Leo runs a bar on Canal Street, Clive\u2019s an electrician, with two teenage sons,” reads the synopsis for Tip Toe. “But just as life should be settling down, the world around them is growing more tense. <\/p>\n

“Words become weapons, opinions become radicalised, and gradually, two neighbours become deadly enemies in a tense, suburban thriller which challenges everything we consider to be safe.”<\/p>\n

Described as an exploration of the “most corrosive forces facing the LGBTQ+ community today”, Tip Toe<\/a> will examine the danger of prejudice in an “urgent yet gripping” tale featuring Davies’s “trademark wit and deft humour”. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s my honour to combine my old home, Channel 4, with my second home, Canal Street,” said Davies upon the project’s announcement. “This is a show I had to write because the world is getting stranger, tougher and darker, and frankly, the fight is on.”<\/p>\n

While Tip Toe is without a release date, Davies will unveil a new five-part sci-fi drama later this year, with The War Between the Land and the Sea<\/a> set to be an entry in the ever-expanding Whoniverse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tip Toe <\/strong>has yet to confirm a release date. <\/strong>Doctor Who<\/strong> airs on BBC One in the UK and <\/strong>Disney+<\/strong><\/a> elsewhere. Classic episodes of <\/strong>Doctor Who <\/strong>are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.<\/strong><\/p>\n
