The indie singer-songwriter’s seventh album, Guitar, arrives Aug. 22<\/p>\n

\n\tMac DeMarco<\/a> is heading home again as he announces his new album Guitar. It\u2019s unclear whether the singer-songwriter aims to return to his native Canada or honor his current home of Los Angeles, where DeMarco recorded the entirety of the album. Guitar marks DeMarco\u2019s seventh LP and is out Aug. 22, via his own label Mac\u2019s Record Label. Along with the news, the singer-songwriter shared lead single \u201cHome.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThese days, I\u2019d much rather be on my own\/No more walking those streets, that I once called my home,\u201d DeMarco sings on the mellow track. In the accompanying music video for the song, DeMarco canoes near his mother\u2019s home in Canada and splices in shots of geese. \u201cHome\u201d is \u201ca song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me,\u201d the singer-songwriter said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDeMarco\u2019s previous full-length release was 2023\u2019s instrumental album, Five Easy Hot Dogs<\/a>. Now, the singer-songwriter is back in action on all fronts. In April, DeMarco announced a 2025 tour across the U.S., U.K., and Canada. He\u2019s adding to that trek with newly announced shows for 2026 in Asia and additional U.S. stops., which include multiple nights at New York\u2019s esteemed Radio City Music Hall and the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California. <\/p>\n

\n\tDeMarco shared his excitement to bring Guitar around the world. \u201cI\u2019m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I\u2019m able,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cI think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I\u2019m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper.\u201d<\/p>\n
