The hours-long arguments will summarize or cast doubt on the last seven weeks of witness testimony. But they will not include any mention of politics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tA <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/06\/23\/diddy-defense-may-invoke-iran-conflict-closing-argument\/\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ report<\/a> on Monday indicated that Combs\u2019 lawyers \u201cmay invoke the recent conflict with Iran\u201d in their closing argument. Sources told the outlet that the defense was considering arguing that the case against Combs was \u201cinstigated by Homeland Security Investigations\u201d and, in TMZ\u2019s words, \u201crather than worrying about what Diddy is doing with baby oil and lube, HSI should worry more about the escalating conflict with Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn preparation for summations later this week, prosecutor Maurene Comey told the judge \u201cI would object\u201d if the defense brought up politics, the use of government resources or the \u201cpropriety of this prosecution\u201d during its closing argument. Preempting any questioning on whether the defense would, indeed, relate Iran or any other current affairs to the trial, Combs\u2019 lead counsel Marc Agnifilo said, \u201cNothing to worry about, judge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAfter the prosecution brought 34 witnesses to the stand across 30 days, Combs\u2019 lawyers presented his case in less than 30 minutes. Attorney Alexandra Shapiro argued for Combs\u2019 full acquittal on all five counts, due to the government\u2019s \u201cinsufficient evidence\u201d related to the charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. No defense witnesses were called, and Combs stood up to tell the judge he had decided not to testify. \u201cI\u2019ve been wanting to tell you thank you. You\u2019re doing an excellent job,\u201d Combs told Judge Arun Subramanian, who chuckled and thanked Combs in return.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Bad Boy Records mogul is pleading not guilty to his criminal charges. The jury is expected to deliver a verdict before July 4.
